Two weeks after my friend was shot and killed I was sitting on the couch and a bullet came through the window behind me and missed me by an inch. This same year many of my friends and family members started to go without shelter.

Shortly after I found a report that stated that “of the 57 blocks where 10 or more people were killed they were in federally deemed redlined blocks created on maps decades ago”.  

 Black and brown people in every hood in America in every hood in America are being shot and pushed out of their community. 

Not only is our community dying but our world is dying.  

DecolonizePhilly is an environmental justice organization that focuses on putting the power back into the communities hands through workshops, community gatherings, and media.
